Autumn at The Crichton
It’s one of our favourite times of year here at The Crichton. The leaves are turning and there’s signs of things slowing down a bit after a hectic summer, so it’s always nice to be able to step outside and just take a breath amongst the autumnal colours.

If you’re looking for things to do in Dumfries this Autumn, we have plenty going on at The Crichton. First things first, it’s the perfect place to get out and about. Whether you’re a walker, runner or a cyclist, The Crichton’s grounds are an ideal space for getting those steps in. We have a number of trails that you can follow, or you can make your own way around the grounds, exploring the rock garden, the history of the site, and the fantastic trees that seem to be changing colour on a daily basis. If you’re walking your dog or catching up with pals (or both!) you could always stop on your way round for a refreshment at Crichton Central. Now that the temperature is beginning to drop, we’re welcoming in hot chocolate season. Cream and marshmallows? Why not?!
If relaxing indoors is more your style, Easterbrook Pool and Spa is open to members and non-members alike from 7am – 8pm seven days a week. With dedicated times for kids too, it’s the perfect place to spend a rainy day. It’s also conveniently located inside Easterbrook Bistro, which means you don’t have to go very far for a post-swim coffee.

There’s always something going on at The Crichton, and it’s a brilliant way to discover new artists, musicians, comedians and local businesses. Our What’s On guide has a comprehensive listing of all the events happening on site, from big names to local bands there’s something for everyone.
The Crichton is also a brilliant place to host your next event. Whether you’re planning a family get together for a special occasion, or you’re looking to host your next conference in the South of Scotland, our experienced events team will work closely with you to make your concept a reality.

Just a stones throw from the centre of Dumfries, there really is something different happening at The Crichton every time you visit. You might catch a glimpse of a gorgeous wedding day, or a spectacular sunset lighting up The Crichton Memorial Church. Perhaps it’s just a long-overdue catch up with a friend, or a chance to enjoy the crisp autumnal weather; whatever your reason for visiting, we hope you enjoy yourself and we look forward to welcoming you back.
