UPDATE FROM TENANTS’ FORUM ON 30 NOVEMBER

HIGHLIGHTS FROM TENANTS’ FORUM MEETING ON 30 NOVEMBER:

Our last Tenants’ Forum took place on Wednesday 30 November at Crichton Central and was hosted by Rachel Cowper, Chief Operating Officer at The Crichton Trust. Thanks to those who joined us.

UPDATES AND DISCUSSIONS:

Rachel has provided the following update from the meeting:

• Matthew Lancashire from Zero Matters attended. He discussed and shared with those present the carbon footprint of The Crichton Trust. There was also a discussion around how this could be reduced. The Crichton Trust shared their plans – including the ambitious Local Heat Energy Network for which test boreholes will be dug over Christmas and into January at the lower end of the site.  But also how to effectively reduce our carbon across the estate – with suggestions coming from tenants in relation to changing lightbulbs, reducing heating and timers on heat sources through to better recycling availability across site.  The Tenants Forum in January will continue picking up on this theme.

FUTURE MEETINGS:

• Tenants’ Forum:  At this and previous meetings, Rachel invited feedback about the timing and format of these meetings.  As a result of the feedback received, it has been agreed to host future meetings as face-to-face breakfast meetings at Crichton Central on the first Thursday of the month. The Tenants’ Forum will also be re-named to The Crichton Networking Forum, but will continue to be open to all business, third sector and academic partners and tenants at The Crichton.
• Next Meeting: The first meeting of 2023 will take place at Crichton Central on Thursday 5th January at 8.30am-9.30am and will be hosted by Rachel Cowper.
• Future dates: 2nd February, 2nd March, 6th April, 4th May and 1st June 2023 (8.30am-9.30am)
