Dr Laura Douglas

Trustee

Laura is an Innovation and Change Leader, running her own consultancy to deliver strategic projects for a wide variety of clients locally, nationally and internationally. In 2014 Laura was appointed by the Scottish Government as a Non Executive Director for NHS Dumfries and Galloway, and since this initial appointment Laura has become the Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee and a voting member of the region’s Integrated Joint Board for Health and Social Care. Laura also represents the NHS on the Regional Developing the Young Workforce Board and is a trustee of the Dumfries and Galloway Health Board’s Endowment Fund.

Laura was born in Dumfries and attended local schools before leaving to pursue higher education at The University of Strathclyde. Laura achieved a BSc(hons) and a PhD in Chemistry before embarking on a successful 12yr career in Innovation with a leading global consumer goods company in the SE of England. In 2012 Laura returned to Dumfries to enjoy family life and new career adventures.

Laura is passionate about working on projects aimed at making Dumfries and Galloway a great place to live and feels excited and privileged to now be a part of the team to shape the possibilities that the Crichton has to offer.
