SALLY MAGNUSSON PRESENTS BBC SCOTLAND’S CHRISTMAS CELEBRATION FROM THE CRICHTON MEMORIAL CHURCH IN DUMFRIES

13 December 2017

The Crichton Trust recently welcomed BBC presenter Sally Magnusson and the Tern TV film crew and producer to the Crichton Estate in Dumfries to record BBC One Scotland’s Christmas Celebration.

The Christmas Celebration presented by Sally Magnusson, will be transmitted on Christmas Eve at 11.45pm and will feature music and readings from the Crichton Memorial Church.

Traditional Christmas carols, from Once in Royal David’s City to O Come All Ye Faithful are sung by a congregation gathered from all over Dumfries and Galloway accompanied by Alba Brass.  As well as the stories of the birth of Jesus from the Bible, there are modern reflections on what Christmas means today.

The congregation is joined by the Junior Choir of the Royal Conservatoire, Scotland, Dumfries Community Choir, and by singer Emily Smith who is a native of Dumfriesshire.

Viewers can enjoy the Christmas Celebration on BBC One Scotland on Christmas Eve (Sunday 24 December), from 11.45pm-12.35am.
