Estate Planning & Tax 2020 – Edinburgh Law Seminars
In the year 2020, which unfortunately no longer describes either of their visual abilities, Alan Barr and Sandra Eden return to present the next version of this important annual seminar, reviewing with flair the stuff of fear – death and taxes. Once more they will cover legal and tax developments in relation to wills, trusts, gifts and other private client concerns. Scottish taxes start to develop a bite distinct from their Southern neighbours, while threats of developments in IHT, that most important Westminster tax for private client professionals, continue to grow. CGT and relevant income tax will be covered, from the courts as well as the Parliaments. Beyond the constitutional fog, the courts and tribunals have as usual contributed with important cases on tax, as well as executries, trusts, professional practice and related matters. This seminar will review statute and case law, as well as significant other material. It is a vital review (with a touch of preview) for anyone working in this area – comprehensive coverage with some detailed materials, delivered with a light touch. Be there or be dead (professionally at least).
