Dumfries and Galloway is to host the British Cycling British National Road Cycling Championships, which are to take place over three days (with one rest day) between the 23-26 June of this year.
On Thursday 23 June the time trials will take place on a course that loops around The Crichton, Bankend and Glencaple. The time trials last all day starting from 9.30am and the course roads will be closed from 9.30am to 6.30pm to enable the Time Trials to take place safely.
British Cycling will hold a number of Business and Community Consultation events in early June including here at The Crichton on Thursday 9 June…
- COMMUNITY CONSULTATION: The Council is to assist British Cycling to host an open meeting at the Barbour Memorial Hall on Thursday 9 June at 12.30pm and in the Gilchrist Room at Easterbrook Hall on Thursday 9 June at 7pm. British Cycling and the Council cordially invites you to either of these meetings to hear more about this event and the road closure programme.
- BUSINESS CONSULTATION: Local businesses can also meet British Cycling officers at a drop-in session at Easterbrook Hall between 4pm and 6pm on Thursday 9 June.
Having the national UK Championships coming to our region offers a wonderful opportunity to promote Dumfries and Galloway and develop our profile nationally. We also anticipate many hundreds of visitors to the region over the weekend of the 23-26 June.
