We are looking forward to welcoming four local artists to Crichton Central Café for Art Week 2023. Each artist will be exhibiting their work on the stage at Crichton Central, and items will be available for customers to buy. Each of these artists is a regular at Crichton Central and we’ve got to know them over the months, we we’re excited to share their art with you.

1st and 2nd October – 10am – 4pm Earth friendly Jewellery – Elaine Fenwick

A lovingly hand-crafted jewellery collection made from recycled 99.9% fine silver. Elaine’s inspiration comes from recognising and appreciating the beauty, strength and fragility of all living things and each piece has been made with the intention of providing meaning and connection for the wearer.

3rd and 4th October – 10am – 4pm Mhairi Muir

An artist and photographer of people, Mhairi Muir is particularly fond of documenting people who work in music and working with folks who like to organise large events. Mhairi is equally passionate about creating art as I am about documenting people and events, and loves to create black and white images, mixed media works, installations and sculptures with an ethereal feel to them. Botany and nature are a huge part of the themes explored in her work.

5th and 6th October – 10 – 4pm Willow & Ash Creative Crafts

As an avid believer in the importance, joy and power of books and reading, Willow & Ash Creative Crafts started as a range of pocket story/book cushions to encourage children to love, read and respect books, and associate them with a sense of comfort and relaxation. Over time, Willow & Ash have developed an extensive library of carefully curated children’s books to complement the cushion themes, so that they can offer a relevant book with each one, for any age. The perfect conditions for children to immerse themselves into the wonderful worlds within, to explore and learn and ignite their imaginations.

7th October – 10am – 4pm Peloton Abstract Art by George Johnston (Pop up exhibition)

Capturing the speed, colour, stress, chaos, energy and excitement of cycling racing on canvas. Hand-painted artworks with a bit of design difference.

This is the first of these events and we are hoping to make it a regular event.
