Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus 10th Anniversary

Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus are celebrating their 10th Anniversary on 27th January and are hosting a week of events and activities, from film nights at the RBC to a dog walk. The events being held at The Crichton can be found on our events page, and all dates and times are on the DG LGBT Plus Facebook page and website.

On Sunday 26th January from 1pm to 4pm in the office at Hestan Southwest, there is a book launch of ‘My Story’ which has been produced by the organisation with a compilation of poems, stories and artwork from the LGBT Plus community and allies across the region.

On Monday 27th January, there will be a networking event at the office in Hestan Southwest from 1pm to 3pm. This is an opportunity for all partner agencies to get together to celebrate the past 10 years.

Finally, on Tuesday 28th January, there will be a similar networking / book launch event over in Stranraer at the library from 12.30pm to 2.30pm, for the partner agencies that work closely with the organisation over in the West.

DG LGBT Plus support the LGBT Plus community and their families across Dumfries and Galloway. Their focus is on inclusion, representation, interagency work, outreach and training to raise the profile and awareness of specific issues which affect the LGBT community.

They offer a variety of services and events, including counselling, support groups, educational workshops, and social events, and their experienced team is here to provide a listening ear and offer guidance and support, whether you’re seeking information, advice, or just a friendly chat.

We’re proud that DG LGBT Plus have a space here at The Crichton and it would be wonderful if you could join in with the celebrations and come along to be part of these events.

Head to their website for mroe information on the work they do, or call 0800 020 9653 to speak to someone directly.
