Big Country’s Bruce Watson on new spoken word tour
Big Country founder and guitarist Bruce Watson is hitting the road for an intimate new spoken word tour.
He’ll combine songs and stories from his career in a tour which kicks off in spring 2027.
Alongside singer Stuart Adamson, Bruce and co enjoyed hits on both sides of the Atlantic, and became one of the biggest bands of the 1980s.
Big Country’s debut album, The Crossing, went platinum, the follow-up, Steeltown, went to number one. The band continue to sell-out shows across the UK.
Guitarist and mainstay Bruce is hitting the road to revive classic hits such as Fields Of Fire, Wonderland, Chance, and Look Away, while also reflecting on the band’s remarkable five decades in rock in an evening that combines story and song.
With reflections on Stuart Adamson and Live Aid, the Grammies and Kate Bush, The Jam and Pete Townshend, Bruce’s tour is not to be missed.
He said: “It’s hard to believe that it’s been five decades in rock, and I am very much looking forward to reflecting on those years, as well as performing my favourite songs. I look forward to seeing you all there!”
Tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday, February 28, 2026) at 10am.
