ALEX TO HEAD UP FINANCE AND CORPORATE BUSINESS AT THE CRICHTON

The Crichton Trust has recently welcomed Alex Banwell to the Senior Leadership Team at The Crichton. Alex commenced his role as Head of Finance and Corporate Business at The Crichton Trust at the end of July and has responsibility for financial management, governance, budgeting, reporting and forecasting. As part of his role, Alex also manages the external consultants contracted by The Crichton Trust to deliver accountancy, ICT, Marketing and Communications and HR functions on behalf of The Crichton Trust.

Alex, who reports to the Chief Operating Officer, leads and manages a multi-disciplinary Finance and Corporate Business team, ensuring sound governance in relation to financial management and processes, project management, human resources and relationship management, Trust administration, performance management and ICT systems, with direct line management responsibility for Trust administrators, admin assistants and project teams.

Alex is also a Trustee of The Usual Place in Dumfries and an active member of the Finance Committee of the Scottish Ornithologists Club.

Alex, who has over 20 years’ experience as an Accountant and Auditor in both the public and private sectors, finds himself back in familiar territory at The Crichton following his role with Dumfries and Galloway Housing Partnership (DGHP). Speaking about his new role, Alex said: “It’s great to return to work at The Crichton and to get to know my new colleagues and partners. This is an important role for The Trust and I look forward to supporting fellow members of the Senior Leadership Team to support The Trust through challenging and exciting times.”
