Upland Made returns to Easterbrook Hall, The Crichton, Dumfries, for a weekend celebrating art, craft and making from across Dumfries & Galloway.
Taking place on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 November, the fair brings together artists and makers working across a wide range of disciplines, from ceramics, jewellery and textiles to painting, printmaking, woodwork and more.
Visitors can browse and buy directly from artists and makers, discover original work and unique gifts, while meeting the people behind what they make.
Creative Workshops
This year, Upland Made will also feature a programme of creative workshops, giving visitors the chance to get hands-on and try something new.
Artist Martin Clarkson will lead a relaxed drawing workshop in The Crichton Gardens, encouraging participants to slow down, look closely and explore the shapes, textures and stories of trees through charcoal and sketching.
Textile artist Louisa Ruthven will lead a Stitched Landscapes Workshop, where participants will create a collaged and embroidered landscape using recycled cloth and Louisa’s hand-dyed and printed fabrics. The workshop will also introduce the Japanese technique of momigami and is suitable for all abilities, with no previous experience needed.
There will also be workshops led by emerging artists, with further details to be announced.
Workshop places are limited. Keep an eye on our Opportunities section for further information and details on how to book your place.
Upland Made Raffle
Visitors can also take part in the Upland Made raffle, with the chance to win unique works kindly donated by participating artists and makers. Every raffle ticket helps support Upland’s work with artists and makers across Dumfries & Galloway.
The raffle draw will take place on Sunday 8 November at 2 pm.
£50 & Under Trail
Follow the £50 & Under trail and discover original art and craft to take home for £50 or less. Look out for the £50 & Under stickers on participating stands throughout Upland Made.
The venue is accessible, and a café will be available throughout the weekend for refreshments.
