80 years young!
With over 70 clubs in Scotland, stretching the length and breadth of Scotland, The Young Farmers Association is known to many in our rural communities. Here in Dumfries and Galloway there is a special one, Lower Nithsdale Young Farmers is celebrating 80 years of operation, yes, 80 years!
The club has welcomed thousands of members over the years who have taken pride in being part of an organisation that embraces the strong links the region has to agriculture and the sense of community that comes from that. Many generations of farmers from across the decades this branch has operated are coming together to celebrate the existence of a club that is still thriving after 80 years.
Past and present members of Lower Nithsdale Young Farmers will be taking part in a host of events over the coming months to mark the club’s anniversary, and this weekend Lower Nithsdale are holding a special Dinner Dance to mark this special 80th Anniversary! here at The Crichton Estate in Easterbrook Hall.
Their next big event will then be their Concert in January which will be at the Theatre Royal, Dumfries on 16th to 18th January. Tickets will be on sale in the next couple of weeks.
