CRICHTON BRIEFING 5 MAY UPDATE

CRICHTON BRIEFING: 5 MAY UPDATE

It was fantastic to have 22 attendees at our first Crichton Briefing on Zoom yesterday. Thank you to everyone who attended.

If you missed it, Gwilym Gibbons, Chief Executive of The Crichton Trust, thanked everyone for their support and understanding during the Covid-19 pandemic, which he described as a hugely difficult time for everyone.

Gwilym spoke positively about plans to launch the new Crichton Central co-working space in Criffel View early next year and The Crichton Trust’s plan to establish seven new workstreams in response to the crisis. He also emphasised that the Trust remains focused on addressing the other key challenges of our time; the ageing society, the climate emergency and the future economy.

In his efforts to navigate The Crichton through this challenge, Gwilym appealed to all members of The Crichton Community to join the conversation and to work together on a post-crisis plan that would help everyone to adapt to our new Coronavirus world at The Crichton.

Referencing a variety of stakeholders including businesses, community groups, event organisers, researchers and academic partners he said: “The Crichton has survived other major challenges and pandemics and we need to work through this together. We need to foster the expertise that we have on site to create the new Crichton.”

This was the first in a series of monthly briefings and we look forward to welcoming even more stakeholders and partners along to future sessions. They will take place on the first Tuesday of every month at 4pm on Zoom.

We would welcome and encourage questions and ideas from stakeholders and partners at any point in this journey, so please feel free to note your ideas or questions in the comments below or get in touch with us at The Crichton Trust.
