Philip N. Jones

Trustee

As an experienced Public Sector Executive and Non-Executive Director, Change and Project Manager, Philip brings a wealth of experience to The Crichton Trust Board.

Philip is a Chartered Manager of the Chartered Management Institute and obtained a Masters Degree in Management from the University of Strathclyde.

As the Chief Executive of Dumfries and Galloway Council for 10 years, Philip was instrumental in the purchase and transition of The Crichton Estate from the Health Board to the Council and in the initial development of The Crichton Trust.  Philip was a Trustee of The Crichton Trust from 2004 to 2009.

Philip was the Chair of NHS Dumfries and Galloway from 2014 to 2018 and was responsible for leading the Board’s policy and decision-making processes. Significant Board achievements during that time included the completion of the new Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary and, together with the Council, the creation of the Health and Social Care Partnership and Integrated Joint Board.

In December 2016, Philip, once again, became a Trustee of The Crichton Trust and continues to apply his knowledge and experience to support the strategic development of The Crichton.
