Heritage Policy & Projects OfficerDr Valentina Bold FSA Scot has worked with the Trust since 2020. In 2022 she directed ‘Up the Middle Road: Crichton Stories of Resilience and Recovery‘: new songs and stories based on recordings made with former patients and staff at the Crichton Royal. Recently, she has been working on the Crichton Archives, exploring our nineteenth century heritage. Valentina was formerly a senior academic and is an Honorary Fellow of the University of Edinburgh. She edits the ‘Review of Scottish Culture‘, ‘Studies in the History and Culture of Scotland‘ and is Convenor of the Scots Language Centre. She has published widely on Scottish cultural heritage, with books including ‘James Hogg’. The Kinmont Willie Sword’; ‘Burns’ Merry Muses of Caledonia’; ‘Smeddum’ and ‘A Women’s History of Winchburgh’.
