TWO BARDS AND A SONGIRD Starts 7.30pm

A unique celebration of song, inspired by the two bards – William Shakespeare and Robert Burns, and performed by Jessa Liversidge. Sit back and enjoy Jessa’s heartfelt performances, from folk to pop and musical theatre, including her skilful use of a loop pedal to layer melodies and sounds. You then get the opportunity to contribute to a new piece using the words of these two inspiring writers and different ideas each show!

TWO BARDS WORKSHOP SESSION 4.30pm – 6.30pm

An uplifting singing workshop suitable for all voices.

If you enjoy singing, whatever your age or experience, you’ll be welcomed to this workshop session, working on vocal technique and creating harmony using material from the show – music inspired by Shakespeare or Burns. Music could include a range of styles from folk to pop and musical theatre, and even songs created on the day! All to be confirmed when Jessa hears the voices in the room.

Jessa is an encouraging and engaging singing leader, skilled in working with singers of all ages and abilities, and with over 20 years’ experience of leading singing with choirs, groups, and individuals. She was a finalist in the ‘Together’ category of the BBC Radio York Make a Difference awards 2022 and two categories in the 2021 Music Teacher awards for her work bringing people together in song. She is well known for inspiring confidence and wellbeing amongst her singers, and runs several community choirs and singing groups in York and North Yorkshire.

It is hoped that workshop participants will buy a ‘combined’ ticket and stay for the evening performance – those that do will have the opportunity to sing some of their workshop songs as part of the show, as well as sitting back and enjoying Jessa’s performance.

Anyone just wishing to take part in the afternoon workshop can do that, and can just buy a workshop ticket.
