The death of a baby is a devastating experience. The effects of grief can be overwhelming and parents, their families and friends can be left feeling dazed, disorientated, isolated and exhausted. It can be hard to take in information, to make decisions or to imagine how you are going to cope. Dumfries and Galloway Sands is a voluntary group of parents who have all experienced the death of a baby, either during pregnancy or soon after the birth. Our experiences vary widely but we all share the common experience of grieving for our children and trying to find a way to live with our loss. We are not a professional health team or trained counsellors, just parents who know how devastating the death of a baby can be.

The Starlight walk in Dumfries is on Saturday 11th November 2023. Meet at 4.45pm at the car park next to Crichton Memorial Church, Carla will lead us on our 3k walk around the grounds.
