Fifty years since the Moon Landing, our closest celestial neighbour is becoming a favourite target for space-faring nations and commercial entities. In addition to national pride and scientific curiosity, this renaissance is driven by an increased realisation that the Moon could be a technology testbed for exploring more distant bodies. Join Dr Mahesh Anand of the Open University as he explores how and why the Moon could play host to a sustainable human presence as we enter an era of ‘New Space’.
