We are excited to announce that DYW DG is once again working with partners, Food and Drink Federation Scotland, Scottish Engineering, CITB and the Crichton Trust Easterbrook Hall to present the hugely successful STEM interactive show event, ‘BANG GOES DG!’

The 2018 and 2019 events involved over 40 businesses and saw over 1,000 S1/2/3 pupils from all 16 regional secondary schools attending. Feedback from businesses, students, Teachers, organisers and other visitors was incredible and BGDG has swiftly become a recognised favourite in school calendars.  Of course, our 2020 event had to be postponed and our 2021 plans took place on the DYW you tube channel, #DYWFlix with amazing content provided from many sources. In 2022, aim to repeat those successes and highlight the array of STEM opportunities to our young people whilst also being aware and adapting to the challenges of events post pandemic.

‘BANG GOES DG! 2022’ will be held at EASTERBROOK HALL, DUMFRIES on WEDNESDAY, JUNE 1st and we would like to offer an open invitation to businesses to come along and take part.

As with previous shows, the aims include not only informing young people about what Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics (STEM) actually are and how they are involved in numerous sectors, but also to showcase the many opportunities that exist around them in D&G, tying in with the DYW DG ‘brand awareness’ service.

The 2022 event already promises to be a bigger, faster and exciting day to inform and inspire our young people and is primarily aimed at S1/2/3 pupils but with College and University students and home schoolers invited to pop in.

DYW DG social media will begin to tease the event over the coming weeks and nearer to the time we will be presenting a social media campaign and programme brochure which will announce businesses attending – so please feel free to send us approved logos and introductory texts when registering.

#BGDG2022 is to be a real highlight of the pupils entire year and after missing out on so much interaction with our friends and partners, we aim to make sure that everyone has a really fantastic day!
