COVID-19 UPDATE: 7 JANUARY 2021
COVID-19 UPDATE FROM THE CRICHTON TRUST (7 JANUARY 2021)
With news of new lockdown restrictions in Scotland from 5 January, we would like to bring you up to date with what this means for The Crichton and our community.
Firstly, we would ask everyone within The Crichton Community to play their part in reducing the spread of coronavirus by limiting physical interaction with people outside their own household, improving hand hygiene, wearing face coverings (as appropriate) and complying to the rules and restrictions that are in place to keep everyone safe and to reduce the pressure on the NHS and other key services and workers.
We appreciate this is an extremely difficult start to the year for everyone, but once again we find ourselves in the position of having to do whatever we can to help each other get through this pandemic. Please be kind, considerate and respectful of others as we all try to adapt to our varied and changing circumstances.
As has always been the case, you are most welcome to make use of The Crichton grounds and gardens and to enjoy short periods of regular exercise here, but please do everything possible to stay safe and to protect each other by only exercising with members of your own household or, as is currently allowed, with one person from one other household in a socially distanced manner. Please also minimise your contact with hard surfaces including park benches and picnic tables. If you choose to use them, please take extra care and precautions.
While most of our colleagues are furloughed or working from home, we would ask you all to be extra vigilant when visiting The Crichton. If you see something that you think requires our attention, please let us know and we will do our best to address matters as quickly and as safely as we can, but please also be tolerant as we will no longer be able to maintain our usual standards of non-essential grounds and property maintenance at this time. We will continue to ensure our bins are emptied regularly, but if for example you are able to take your litter home with you, then please do.
We appreciate that most of our tenants will be working from home too, so we would kindly ask our tenants to let us know if they require any support or cleaning services during the lockdown period, so that this can be arranged.
As you are aware, Easterbrook Hall is already closed to the public until at least the end of March and Easterbrook Bistro was due to be closed until 22 January, but it is now our intention to open a daily takeaway service at Easterbrook Bistro from Monday 11 January from 10am to 3pm (Check social media for the latest updates). A restricted takeaway menu will be available for a trial period and will include the provision of takeaway soup and hot and cold drinks, sandwiches and snacks. We regret there will be no access to our indoor facilities including toilets until restrictions are lifted.
We will resume our online monthly update meetings later this month, but in the meantime if any of our colleagues, partners, tenants, customers, suppliers or visitors have any queries or concerns or need our support, please get in touch and we will do our best to help in any way we can. You can also keep up to date with news from The Crichton via our online blog and social media pages.
Please stay safe.
