The Rutherford McCowan Building is home to The School of Interdisciplinary Studies at the Crichton Campus – The University of Glasgow offers an MA in Health and Social Policy; an MA Primary Education Programme with Teaching Qualification and a BSc in Environmental Science and Sustainability.
Rutherford/McCowan Building’s imaginative glass, sandstone and stainless steel link building was completed by Page and Park in association with Robert Potter and Partners in September 2000. This project involved the rehabilitation and restoration of two historical buildings to provide state-of-the-art teaching facilities for Glasgow University, including seminar rooms, laboratory, library, language laboratories, and studio theatre.
The Rutherford McCowan project won an RIBA award and is featured in the book ‘Scotland’s 100 Best New Buildings’.
